SOLDIERS WITH HEART: DELIVERY OF DONATIONS IN KIND
“Soldiers with Heart” are once again sending a strong signal of solidarity and charity with their donation.

KLAGENFURT. The past few nights in Carinthia have been characterized by icy cold. How cold must it be for people without a roof over their heads, especially if they are young homeless people? The volunteer members of "Soldiers with a Heart" visited the youth emergency sleeping center (JUNO) in Klagenfurt at the beginning of December with sleeping bags, but they see it as their duty to increase their aid campaign again due to these temperatures and the growing demand for warm accommodation.

PROTECT FROM THE COLD

Together with the generous support of Hervis Villach, STEYR ARMS GmbH and TMH Trading GmbH, a total of 14 new sleeping bags and 20 thermal heat packages, consisting of gloves, hoods and tube scarves, were presented to JUNO. In addition, the entire team and the residents of the emergency shelter were invited to dinner with plenty of children's punch, frankfurters, bread and all the trimmings.
President John Patrick Platzer, who leads the campaign, underlines the importance of this support: "On rough nights, our donations should not only protect against the cold, but also provide comfort and security. They symbolize a warming hug in difficult times."

HELP NEEDED URGENTLY

This committed initiative was implemented in collaboration with Niklas D., representative of STEYR ARMS GmbH and TMH Trading GmbH: “It is an honor for us to make a contribution and, together with 'Soldiers with a Heart', make a difference in the lives of those who who urgently need our help."

SAFETY & HEALTH

Carmen Kuschar, JUNO supervisor, emphasizes the importance of these actions and the ongoing support of "Soldiers with Heart": "These donations are not only vital for the homeless young people, but also a sign of solidarity. We are deeply grateful for the ongoing support , which makes a significant contribution to safety and health."

CAMILLO AWARD

2023
CAMILLO AWARD

For the fourth time – and for the first time in the newly renovated parliament building – the Camillo Award was presented to exceptionally deserving paramedics. At the invitation of the President of the National Council, Wolfgang Sobotka, the Parliament and the Federal Association of Rescue Services (BVRD.at) thus set a visible sign of recognition for outstanding achievements in pre-hospital emergency care. The award is intended to raise awareness for the concerns of a modern and patient-oriented rescue service. Gernot Grömer, moderator of PM Wissen, director of ÖWF and himself a trained emergency paramedic and trainer, led through the evening.

We are pleased to have supported the following categories:

BUNDESHEER

Marianne Lacchini-Fanninger has worked for more than 20 years to improve the quality of rescue services within the Austrian Armed Forces. The award winner in the category "Bundesheer" is jointly responsible for the training of paramedics, acts as a mentor for young women in the soldier's profession and rendered outstanding services, for example, in the care of the civilian population in the Syrian civil war. At the award ceremony, Lacchini-Fanninger pleaded for an adaptation of the rescue service to technical and medical as well as social changes.

SUPPORT

The anonymous team behind the Instagram satire page "rettungsmitfahrermemes" was honored by the jury in the "Support" category, which was introduced for the first time this year. In pointed satirical contributions, they also address neglected problem areas in the rescue service, such as sexual harassment in everyday service or a lack of psychological hygiene for emergency personnel, and tirelessly point out the need for further development. Representing the operators of the site, Fritz Jergitsch from the satire website "Die Tagespresse" accepted the award. Asked about the situation of satire in Austria, he stated that there was no need to worry about it in Austria. Jergitsch announced that the prize money would be donated to an organization that provides psychological support in the emergency services.

On October 3, Federal Minister of Defense Klaudia Tanner had the opportunity to visit the STEYR ARMS factory in Kleinraming and placed a clear focus on crucial aspects that are important for both the regional economy and national security.

Another important focus was on the long-standing partnership between the Austrian Armed Forces and STEYR ARMS. Federal Minister Tanner praised the cooperation, particularly in connection with the StG 77 (AUG), a key component of the Austrian Armed Forces' equipment. She emphasized the need to maintain and strengthen this long-standing cooperation in order to guarantee the security of the country and at the same time support local jobs.

At the end of the visit, the Federal Minister was presented with a certificate from the "STEYR HELPS" charity project. This confirms a donation in kind worth € 500,- to the "Soldiers with heart" association, which supports children and young people in need.

2023
ZOO ALTENFELDEN
The Altenfelden Zoo, located in one of the most picturesque regions of the Mühlviertel / Upper Austria, has established itself not only as a place of animal love and nature conservation, but also as an important ambassador for the culture and tradition of hunting. A significant facet of this commitment is the hunting culture museum "cultum venandi," which opened in 2019 and makes an outstanding contribution to bringing the values associated with hunting closer to visitors.

The "cultum venandi" museum is more than just a collection of artifacts and exhibits. It is a place where the history, aesthetics and ethical aspects of hunting are presented in an impressive and accessible format. The exhibition covers a wide range of topics, from the development of hunting weapons to the importance of sustainable hunting for species conservation. Visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves deeply in the world of hunting without having to be a hunter themselves.

The support of the Altenfelden Zoo in creating this unique museum deserves the highest recognition. It allows visitors to develop an understanding of the importance of hunting in our culture and history, while creating a platform for discussing ethical issues related to hunting.

Altenfelden Zoo deserves praise for its commitment to presenting the culture and tradition of hunting in a positive and educational way. The hunting culture museum "cultum venandi" is an excellent example of how education and information can help deepen the understanding of hunting and its role in nature conservation. It helps to inform, inspire and raise awareness among visitors and makes Altenfelden Zoo a place where animal lovers and culture fans alike get their money's worth.
