JAGDHUND "Pötschn" Boots

Weighing just over 2 lbs, these boots are designed for medium and high mountains. Features Vibram sole and removable VCP. Water resistant, breathable, and has rubber coating around the shoe. A flex zone in the heel area protects the Achilles tendon as well. Upper material is made of nubuck leather at .28 cm and the lining is made from aniline leather.

VIBRAM SOLE: This is the brand name for the abrasion resistant, water and winter proof shoe soles made of rubber. The Italian mountain climber Vitale Bramani developed and patented these together with Pirelli and Goodyear. The soles guarantee the best functions, and maximum comfort with a long life span.

SYMPATEX: This brand name is a special piece of equipment in the JAGDHUND shoes. There is a membrane between the upper and the inner lining. It protects the foot against wetness, yet the shoe remains completely breathable. The effects of the weather cannot penetrate the shoe; inside, there is a pleasant microclimate.

Care and Protection

Three main reasons why you should take regular care of your footwear:

To maintain its waterproof properties which decline with time and need to be restored.

To maintain its breathability and allow the excess moisture which results from perspiration to escape.

To maintain its shape and appearance, as the footwear is made out of natural leather which needs its fat content to be restored periodically.

Guidelines for maintenance and care:

Remove the insole(s) and allow to dry.

Remove laces before cleaning and polishing.

Remove any conspicuous surface dirt with water, a cloth and brush.

Clean the insides only with a damp cloth and a soft brush to avoid damaging the lining.

Do not dry in direct sunlight or near sources of heating.

If the insole is wet, remove it and fill the boot with old newspapers; remove when dry.

The best time to waterproof your footwear with colorless spray is when the leather is still moist.

Leather requires regular care with colorless spray. Make sure you polish and waterproof your footwear after every use in wet conditions (after drying and cleaning).

Store your footwear in a suitable sized cardboard box, in a dry and ventilated area.
